White Elephant Beach Children Outdoor Play Park, covering an area of 3800 square meters, is located in Jinghong City, the capital of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture. The name of Jinghong City also bears a beautiful meaning in the Dai language, which is "the city of dawn." The site of the park is a local water eco-tourism resource development project that relies on the water ecological restoration area,hence the park is planned and designed using the site's construction conditions to fully protect the ecology and increase the fun of playing for local children. In addition, this customized outdoor playground integrates local endemic species, such as peacocks and Asian elephants, and local Dai culture into the design of the entire park. Among them, the mascots of Jinghong City, Asian Elephant Jingjing and Peacock Honghong, are the IP characters of the park, accompanying the children as they grow up happily.

Design Concept

White Elephant Beach Children Outdoor Playground is based on the theme of “White Sand Secret Adventure,” launching a story of making friends with elephants and peacocks and exploring together. At first, the children accidentally break into a mysterious white beach and come across a group of Asian elephants playing in the sand. The elephant Jingjing warmly invites the children to explore the rainforest and look for treasure. In the depths of the rainforest, the fairy bird peacock Honghong leads the children to the sky, overlooking the beautiful white sand secret environment. After many tests, the children realize that the beautiful Xishuangbanna is the common home of humans and small animals, and only through harmonious coexistence can they fully enjoy the priceless gifts of nature.

Functional Area

White Elephant Beach Outdoor Play Park has designed two immersive theme play areas: White Elephant Sand Play Area and Fairy Bird Flying Area, which feature 16 kinds of outdoor playground equipment. These areas integrate cultural theme positioning and dynamic activities to give children an immersive play experience.

White Elephant Sand Play Area

From a distance, the two prominent cute "mother and baby elephants" on the beach, one small and the other large, look warm and harmonious. They are built as three-dimensional cartoon images with huge volumes, composed of purple, yellow, and white triangular color blocks. The mother elephant is 10 meters high, while the baby elephant is 5 meters high. The two elephants of different sizes are connected in series through climbing nets with varying height differences and inclinations, cleverly integrating a variety of outdoor playground equipment such as drilling, jumping, climbing, and a white S-Slide with climbing nets from the elephant’s abdomen.

Cartoon animal images and interesting amusement devices inspire children's desire to explore, letting them exercise their physical strength and coordination while playing. The two elephants use perforated plates to increase lighting and breathability, and internal and external light refraction can create an amazing light and shadow world.

In the sand play area, there are rotating rings, big swings, and zip lines, which are mainly for exercising children's courage. The sand screen, play sand crane, play sand spoon, and sand dredging machine are designed to exercise children's manipulative abilities. Additionally, self-electric bicycles, desert oases, and other outdoor playground equipment train children's balance ability, courage, and intelligence, promoting physical coordination and providing education through fun.

Fairy Bird Flying Area

In the Fairy Bird Flying Playground, Cowboy Group designed the outdoor playground equipment based on the peacock image, highly restoring the real image to give children an immersive theme experience. The main building in this area is an elf-like green peacock, standing noble and elegant with its long feather spread out like a screen. Deep blue feathers of the peacock resemble the blue sky, flashing colorful light and shining in the sun.

In the overall detail design, the designer of Cowboy Group integrates the diamond pattern and stripes common in Dai brocade clothing into the peacock image design. The peacock neck features a blue-green color change treatment, which is visually dynamic and in line with the tone of Xishuangbanna. The yellow crown feather design symbolizes luck, happiness, and health, adding national cultural and artistic flavor. The peacock is also equipped with lights, becoming a unique landscape at night with its colorful illumination.

Based on the swing of the feather, the designer created two long slides and large drill and climb nets. The just-right line size and proportion make the amusement equipment and peacock an integrated, smooth, and aesthetically pleasing structure. The vivid peacock shape and smooth play line design attract children to explore the interior and play role-playing and hide-and-seek games.

The unique cloud trampoline in peacock green looks like a green island floating in the beach from a distance and clever children can play on it using bouncing potential energy, like Monkey King somersault clouds, and ride on a cloud. The cloud trampoline offers various methods of play, such as bed jumping, sliding, and castle play. Whether you are a kid or an adult, you will forget your age and enjoy yourselves.

White Elephant Beach Children Outdoor Play Park is not just for fun but also a place to make new friends. Additionally, children can take off their shoes, barefoot on the beach, let the sand bury their feet, and experience the big swing rope swing, finding their childlike innocence and enjoying the childlike fun of summer.At the same time, parents accompanying their children can also sit nearby to relax, spend time with their kids, and rest.
